How to Visit Iguazau Falls on Brazil Side

All pictures are my own unless otherwise noted/sourced; do not use without permission.

One of the most beautiful waterfalls in the world, and largest waterfall system in the world, is Iguazu Falls. It splits between two countries’ borders: Argentina and Brazil. Both offer beautiful and unique perspectives and experiences. I think both are a must visit if you're already in the area. However, if you can only do one, I promise the Brazil side will not disappoint!

If you’re looking for a once in a lifetime experience, this is it! You’ll be surrounded by cascading waterfalls, creating a magical, fairytale atmosphere. I literally did not want to leave because it was so beautiful.

The Brazil side is smaller than the Argentina side, but the Brazil side will provide you a panoramic view of the falls, with walking paths leading to the heart of the falls.

How to get to Iguazu Falls

The best and quickest way to get to Iguazu Falls is to fly into Foz do Iguacu (IGU) airport, which is only about two miles from the Brazilian entrance to Iguazu Falls. Keep in mind that flights are very limited, so book in advance. This is the route we took, and it was quick and easy.

Another way to get to Iguazu Falls is by bus, which is slightly cheaper but I don’t recommend this as it can take a very long time due to the long distance.

Where to Stay in Foz do Iguacu

There are many options to choose from in terms of accommodations, most are very affordable. Not to mention, they’re not far from the falls entrance.

One of the best hotels to stay at is Hotel das Cataratas, which is located inside the park, with stunning views of the falls. You can access the falls after hours too. While it comes at a higher price point, it’s a fantastic option if your budget allows.

How to get from Foz do Iguacu to Iguazu Falls

If you’re staying at a hotel outside of the park, it’s extremely easy to get to the falls. Good news is there’s UBER!! So, it’s just a quick uber ride to the park entrance. Can’t forget to mention that UBER is inexpensive in Brazil.

About the Brazilian Side of Iguazu Falls

Once Inside Brazil Iguazu Falls, they have double decker buses that will take you to the start of the falls, which is about a 15-20 minutes ride. The ride is serene, taking you through the jungle with the soothing chorus of jungle sounds all around you.

Upon arrival and a brief walk, you’ll be rewarded with sweeping views into Argentina and its breathtaking waterfalls. At the end of the route, you’ll take an elevator down to the walkway toward Devil’s Throat, where you’ll be brought right up against the roaring falls and thoroughly soaked. A rain jacket or poncho is highly recommended. This was my favorite experience!

Pictures and videos do NOT do this place any justice! You HAVE to experience it for yourself to understand its beauty!

While I was there, I kept thinking, “I have to bring my mom here, she would absolutely love it!” It’s one of those places that stays with you long after you leave, and I can’t recommend experiencing it enough.
